Tarua Seafood @ Koh Samui, Thailand

I was in Koh Samui for 4 days to see visit girlfriend Itsaree who was training to become a certified Yoga Teacher. We had our first meal at Tarua Seafood which was located a few hundred metres from her class in Vikasa Resort.

Tarua Seafood

The restaurant specializes in Thai Seafood Dishes and was located on top of a cliff giving diners a beautiful view of the Sea. We kept our order light as she had to go back to class right after.

The seafood used in the Yum Woon Sen was very fresh especially thair Prawns and Calamari. The dressing however was a little on the sweet side. I would have preferred it to be a little more sour.

Salt Grilled Seabass

I particularly enjoyed their Stir-Fried Fish Maw. The Fish Maw had a good springy texture and was not too oily.

Really good Greek Food @ Poseidon, Munich

We spent a couple of days in Munich to visit our friends Bali and Brooke who took us to this little Greek Restaurant called Poseidon. It was my first time having Greek Food in Germany and I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. The menu was very similar to many Greek Restaurants in Toronto but the preparation of the food was much better.

I really enjoyed my meal at Poseidon. The Grilled Octopus was one of the best I've had. The meat was tender and had a nice charcoal flavor that was complemented with a simple balsamic vinaigrette. Another favorite of mine was their Seabass which was simply grilled with Olive Oil and Salt. Anyone visiting Munich that might want to try something else besides German Food should consider paying Poseidon a visit.

Frankfurt Cuisine @ FichteKranzi, Frankfurt

Opened in 1849, FichteKraenzi is one of the oldest Apple Wine Restaurants in Frankfurt City. The restaurant specializes in serving local Frankfurt favorites in addition to some regional German and International Dishes for non-locals.

I enjoyed the onions soup. The cheese was gooey and the broth was full bodied.

Salad with Chicken Fillet

This was my main course. The Chicken was quite tender and the Yogurt dressing melded well with the fresh Lettuce, Tomatoes and Endives. I liked how the bean sprouts adds a nice crunch to the salad.

Rotisserie Chicken @ Safari Grill, Frankfurt

I've always wondered if the Rotisserie Chicken at Safari Grill was any good. Every time I would visit Frankfurt we would pass by Safari Grill watching their chickens turn as it is slowly being roasted in the Rotisserie. It looked really mouth watering but we've always decided to eat somewhere else. This trip round we decided to give the place a try for lunch.

The Chicken was a little disappointing. It was dry and a too salty. I still prefer the Rotisserie Chicken at Score's in Montreal which are really juicy and salted just right. I did however enjoy the Salad whose sweet and tangy yogurt dressing went well with the mixed greens.

Hot Pot @ Little Lamb, North Jiangsu

My colleagues took me for Hot Pot on my last night in Siyang County. Despite its name this restaurant does not belong to the famous Little Lamb Chain in China. We ordered our usual of Beef and Lamb and also Pig's Brain (a favorite of Chinese Locals). The meats were fresh but the Fatty Beef was leaner than what I'm usually accustomed too.
