It's Christmas and we were celebrating it with Coconuts, Skinny Santas and Steaks! Impressed after reading their online menu we chose Prime to celebrate our Christmas Dinner.
Prime is a pure steak house in every sense. It's modern decor boasts oversize leather chairs and an open kitchen that most chefs would envy.
The menu... Well let's just say it's all about the steaks here. This place offers not only one but a few breeds of cows! Black Angus, USDA Prime, Wagyu (Marbling grade of 1 to 12) and even Organic Steak... You name it they pretty much got it.
We ordered four appetizers, three mains and three desserts to share for a table of four and everything we had was good. The star of course was our 1KG Wagyu Prime Rib and USDA Prime Ribeye. Both steaks were so juicy and flavorful we didn't need any sauces to go with it. Despite it's gargantuan size the Wagyu Prime Rib was so tender we were only using a regular knife to cut it. This was definitely a far cry from the ridiculously expensive Kobe Sirloin that I had in Montreal which was tough to cut even with a steak knife.
Desserts are also worth a mention. The rich hot chocolate cake was divine. It had a nice baked crust with a deliciously sinful molten dark chocolate in the middle. The carrot cake was also very good and had whole walnuts inside which gave it a nice texture.
In a city where real steak houses that are comparable with North America are rare I am glad I have found Prime. Together with the Starwood Privilege Discount this is a place I will most likely frequent whenever I am craving a good piece of meat.

Haha the restaurant wasn't very full even on a Christmas day! The service was also very good that night!
You were cutting it with a steak knife, just the old fashioned formal dinner kind...before they started to look like paring knives
