Lunch @ Chang Pier Market

Before taking Sam to visit the Grand Palace we stopped at the Chang Pier Market for lunch. There were quite a few stalls selling different foods like skewered meats, wonton mee and even breads.

Roaming around the different food stalls we finally settled on the one that offered the most dishes.

Pork Trotter with Rice
Pork Trotter Rice

This was Phin's dish. He still prefers the stall in Chatuchak Market because the one here lacks flavor and gave him too much lean meat.

Pad Thai

Pad Thai
Sam finally had his first Pad Thai. Having tried Malaysian Char Kuey Teow (Fried Rice Noodles) he finds Pad Thai a little bland.

Fish Maw Soup

I ordered this. The fish maw soup was also very bland for my taste. It had was way too thick probably from having too much cornstarch.

BBQ Skewered Pork and Chicken

Phin
I was craving for some skewered meat and bought some from a neighboring store. This was the best of everything we had. The Skewered Pork had a nice mix of fat and meat and the marinade was really good!

The food in general wasn't very good but we're not going to complaint because we just needed something to fill us up before visiting the Palace and Temples. There is also a bakery in the market that sells a wide variety of breads and cakes. We bought a Stuffed Pork Bun and it was very very good!
