Their new restaurant features the same conveyor-belt system as their main branch in Pavilion where various sushi and rolls are laid out for us to choose. We tried the Unagi and Assorted Mushroom Sushi and the Crabmeat Maki. All were decent with the Eel sushi being my favorite. It had a generous amount of eel on top and the little cheese sandwiched between the rice gave it a nice touch of salt.
We also ordered from their ala carte menu. Keeping it healthy I had Salmon Sashimi and Sashimi Salad. The Salmon Sashimi was quite fresh but I did not like the dressing for the salad.
Phin had their Tori Curry Cheese Wazen Set which was basically a fried chicken cutlet in Japanese Curry that is topped with cheese. Adding cheese to curry may sound strange but believe me it was so good I ended up mopping up Phin's curry sauce with a bowl of rice.
Kim ordered the Tendon Set which was basically Tempura on Sushi Rice. The Tempura was soggy.
Overall Ichiban Boshi is one of the better conveyor-sushi restaurant in KL. The quality and offering definitely surpasses Sushi King and Genki Sushi. Price wise it also cheaper than regular Japanese Restaurants such as Rakuzen, Kura or Yuzu.
