After countless sites, recommendations and food blogs it was a decision between Lombardi’s, John’s and Grimaldi. And with only one Pizza Slot available we made our decision on the basis of location and settled on Grimaldi's Pizzeria because of its close proximity to Brooklyn Bridge allowing us to walk the Bridge, walk around Brooklyn and have lunch!

Crossing over Brooklyn Bridge from Manhattan and getting lost for thirty minutes we finally found the queue at Grimaldi's Pizzeria around 1:30pm. A further twenty-minute wait and we were finally inside what seems to be a rather small family like restaurant that was crammed with tables.

Sandwiched between two tables that are an elbow’s length apart our pushy waiter came quickly for our order. Not knowing what was good we ordered the original Pizza that came with Tomato Paste, Basil and Mozzarella. Regardless of the number of diners available ordering in slices are not allowed to maintain the Pizza’s freshness.
While waiting for our Pizza we caught a glimpse of the Pizza Chefs stretching the dough, spreading the sauce and layering the ingredients at a lightning speed to cope with the sit-in orders and a ton of take-out orders!

I was worried that we won’t finish our Pizza but when it arrived we surprisingly finished all eight slices! I’m no Pizza expert but I felt the Pizza was good but it wasn’t the best I’ve had. The Cheese was nice and it had the right amount of fresh Tomato Sauce. The only problem I had was the crust, which wasn’t as light or crispy as, I had hoped. Our neighboring table had one with loads of air pockets but not ours. I actually thought Favola’s Pizza at Le Meridien KL had a better crust.

I can’t comment on who has the best Pizza in NYC since I haven’t tried the other Pizzerias in New York. But for anyone looking for a good Pizza while visiting Brooklyn Bridge, Grimaldis would be your best bet because of its location.
