Dry Aged Porter House Steak @ G Buzzano, Frankfurt

I'm back in Frankfurt again for a couple of days to attend the IAA Convention. Traveling alone, my friend Balazs decided to visit me in Frankfurt for a night where I took him around Frankfurt for a quick tour around the City Center.

G Buzzano

I was craving for some good Scwheinebraten but settled for a meal at an Italian Steak House called G Buzzano because Balazs was sick of Pork after living in Munich for several years.

Although G Buzzano is an Italian Steak House the steaks they serve are USDA Prime Steaks which was quite a relief for me because I've never heard of Prime Beef coming out of Italy or Germany.

Olives and Bread
Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Bread
The serving of Olives and Warm Bread was a very traditional way of starting our meal at a Steak House. This definitely kept our hopes high as we wait in anticipation for our Steak!

House Salad
House Salad
This was such a simple but excellent Salad of Fresh Field Greens and Balsamic Vinaigrette! The Greens were light and crisp and the dressing had a nice balance of sweet and acidity

Truffled Mash Potatoes
Truffled Mash Potatoes
The Truffle Mash had a really nice buttery flavor that was complemented by the earthy flavor of the White Truffles. The consistency however was not very fluffy.

Dry Aged Porter House Steak for two
Dry Aged Porter House Steak for two
Our Porter House Steak was very tender that almost melts in your mouth. The flavor however was disappointing for two reasons. First their so-called "Jus" was actually clarified butter which they poured all over our steaks making it too oily. Second the Steak was very under-salted.

Apple Tart
Apple Tart
I enjoyed the crumbly tart shell and also the filling of the Apple which wasn't overly too sweet.

Strawberry Tart
Strawberry Tart
Bali's favorite. The Strawberries had a nice balance between sweet and sour and was very soft in texture.

Overall I enjoyed the Salad the most at G Buzzano but was terribly disappointed with the expensive Porter House we ordered. Nothing is worse than having a chef destroy what would have been a perfect piece of Steak by under seasoning it...

Haha it does look nice Nikel! But the food is really not worth the price it charges. There's much better steak houses for that kind of money.
