Wonton Noodles @ Jim Chai Kee Noodles

I was craving for a bowl of Wonton Noodles after Sam told me about Jim Chai Kee a popular Wonton Noodle Shop in Hong Kong that has a sister restaurant on Thornhill. Located just 10 minutes from my office we dropped by for lunch to try it out.

True to its name the restaurant's menu was very limited and specializes in Noodles.

Menu

Kazu ordered Wonton Noodles in Soup while I ordered a combination Beef and Wonton Lo Mein. Both our dishes came within minutes and the first thing we noticed was the huge Wonton! The wontons were stuffed with more than one shrimp and was really plump and juicy.

Despite having the same noodles the texture was very different between the soup and dry version. The noodles in the dry version was chewy and bouncy whereas the noodles in the soup was much softer. Nevertheless they both were good in their own way.

The meal was relatively cheap and cost us CAD $12. What I liked most was the wontons but I still prefer the noodles back in Malaysia which is a little thicker and has a smoother texture.
