Despite it's deceiving name, New Paris is actually a popular restaurant among many SS2 residents for serving up some good Malaysian Chinese Food.
We ordered quite a few dishes that were recommended by our waiter. Food that were good included the Kum Heong Lala (clams) whose sauce was really good with rice.
Cheong Cheng Tilapia is still very good here. The fish was cooked perfect but more importantly the sour plum sauce packed a ton of flavor especially with the added pork lard.
My favorite however is still their Deep Fried Egg Tofu with Minced Meat. The tofu was very crispy and was silky smooth on the inside.
There were however two dishes that weren't very good. The Chiu Chow Steam Grouper was overcooked and the sauce was very bland. I would have preferred it to be a little more sour.
Deep fried pork ribs with their house sauce wasn't very good either. The pork ribs was soggy and the sauce was a little too sweet.
Other dishes I had were the duo of Butter and Salad Prawns which was so-so and stir-fry vegetables with garlic.
Overall I felt the food wasn't as good as it used to be. The place was quite packed that night which may explain why some of the dishes turned out well and some were disappointing.
