Some 200km South of Bangkok City, Hua Hin is a town known for their beach resorts. It is mainly frequented by Bangkokians during the weekends or holidays and is closely associated with the Royal Family.
The last four days of our trip we stayed at the Sheraton Hua Hin, an all-inclusive resort where we had our dinner at their beach side restaurant Luna Lanai.
The ambiance was great as we were dining beach side and under the stars. To top it off the restaurant even featured a live band singing some 80's and 90's classics.
For food the restaurant was featuring a selection of fresh seafood that can be cooked in a variety of ways. We decided to go ala carte for our meal but also ordered a BBQ red snapper and Tiger Prawns to share. Both were sadly overcooked and dry.
For my meal I decided to go light and ordered a plate of Som Tam with Grilled Chicken. The papaya was crunchy and had quite a bit of ground peanuts which I liked.
Kim ordered Chiang Mai Noodle Curry with Chicken who felt the curry was a little sweet and did not pack any heat.
Mike ordered Pad Thai but felt that the one he had in Siam Paragon was better because the noodles here were too soft for his liking. I tried some of it and felt it was actually very good. It wasn't oily and the noodles had a nice texture.
Phin ordered a Beef Burger and was very satisfied with it.
Overall the food didn’t quite compare with the ambiance of the restaurant. Our meal came up to approximately THB 2300 after a 25% SPG Discount.
