Zen Japanese Restaurant @ Central Plaza LadPrao, Bangkok

I’ve mentioned it before and I’ll mention it again. For some strange reason Japanese Food in Bangkok is very good. I’ve tried various places from high-end to restaurant chains and so far I haven’t found any that lacks variety or quality.

Zen is another popular Japanese Restaurant Chain that has quite a few locations around Thailand. After a business meeting at Sofitel, May and I had a late dinner at their branch in Central Plaza LadPrao.

We ordered the typical Salmon and Tuna Sashimi, Grilled Hamachi Shioyaki (Grilled Yellowtail with Salt) and a Seafood Salad, which were all good.

However, we also made room for some other dishes that we haven’t tried before. We ordered their Thai Style Spicy Salmon Salad where the salmon was dressed in a spicy, sweet and sour dressing similar to that of Thai’s North Eastern “Yum” type dishes.

May also ordered the Salmon Cucumber Maki and a Salad Maki. Both of which were unique where the rolls were not wrapped with sushi rice but with cucumber. The cucumber sheets gave the makis’ a nice crunch, which I liked.

Our meal for two cost THB 1780 including tips and taxes. The amount may sound hefty for two people but do keep in mind May and I were really hungry and we ordered a lot of food. The amount of food we had could have been for three people.
