Hot Pot @ Made in China Hot Pot, Scarborough

Most people would think it is crazy to have Hot Pot during Summer but this was what Derek and I did a couple of weeks back after our "friendly badminton game" which set my wallet back by CAD $25.

Playing in Scarborough we only knew two Hot Pot restaurants around the area and decided to try "Made in China Hot Pot" at Midland and Finch. Opened by the same owner of the All-You-Can-Eat Korean BBQ next door "Made in China Hot Pot" offers both All-You-Can-Eat and an Ala-Carte option.

We opted for the buffet and had a Preserved Egg with Parsley and Satay Soup Base. The number of items available were similar to other Hot Pot Restaurants with your usual Pork, Lamb, Beef, Chicken, Dumplings, Assorted Meat and Seafood balls, Claypot Rice, Tendons and Vegetables. As part of our buffet we were also given a mix Seafood Platter that included Salmon, Oysters and Shrimps.

After our meal we both onclude that Kam Toa is still the best Hot Pot restaurant in Toronto. The meats here were a little frozen and the quality of the balls and dumplings were definitely not as good.
