Shellfish Buffet @ Homard Plus, Montreal

My current trip back to Canada will see me visiting Montreal every week for a couple of days. On my first trip, my client Laurent took me for dinner at Homard Plus.

Everything about the restaurant reminded me of Red Lobster until Laurent had a special request for an "All-You-Can-Eat" Shellfish Buffet. For CAD 45 + taxes per person we started off with a Caesar Salad and a delicious bowl of rich and creamy Lobster Bisque.

From then on all hell broke loose as we were served our first platter of boiled Alaskan Snow Crab Legs, Butter Sauteed Prawns and Mussels cooked either in White Wine, Mustard and Cream or Marinara Sauce. I must applaud the generosity and friendliness of our waitress who kept refilling our plates as soon as we were finished.

The quality of the shellfish was really fresh despite being a buffet. The crab legs were sweet, the prawns were cooked just right and the mussels with Mustard and Cream was just delicious!

After an hour and a half of talking and wine we each finished 7 platters of crab legs, 4 bowls of mussels and 3 rounds of prawns.

To top it all off we also had Strawberries with Grand Marnier and whip cream which was a refreshing way to end our night!

I've heard about KI but I've never tried. The best Japanese Restaurant in TO apparently is Hasmimoto and Kaji Sushi both of which I haven't been to yet!

I'll have a posting done on KI once I find the people to go with me to try it out =)
