We had the opportunity to meet the owner Datin Sandy Liew who helped us with our food order.
Tom Yam Goong

The soup was good! A nice balance of hot and sour and the shrimps were big.
Steam Clams

The Clams were perfectly cooked and the juices were mixed with lime, chili and garlic. It was quite good except it was too sour.
Pineapple Fried Rice

The Fried Rice was also quite good although Coca still makes it the best. The rice wasn't soggy and did not clump together. The only thing I hoped for was more curry powder.
Stir-Fried Greens

The Greens were not Kangkung. It was some local vegetables that tasted similar to it. I actually liked this dish. The use of belachan wasn't excessive and was enough to give it a good flavor with a nice level of heat.
Grilled Calamari

The Grilled Calamari was tender. Quite good.
Pandan Chicken

This was really good. The Pandan Chicken was well marinated and was very tender.
Deep Fried Fish with Sweet and Sour Sauce

The Fish was very crispy and you could even eat the bones. The Sweet and Sour Sauce had a nice balance. I liked the Papaya Salad on top which gave it an extra acidity.
BBQ Lamb Shoulder

Well marinated. The lamb was tender and had a sweet soy based marinade that masked the gamey flavor of the lamb.
BBQ Chicken

Our BBQ Chicken was definitely a showstopper as our waitress poured some liquor over the chicken and then set it on fire. The Chicken was pretty delicious with a sweet BBQ Sauce.
Claypot Crab with Glass Noodles

This was really good! The Noodles were not too soggy and was very flavorful from the ginger, spring onion and soy based sauce. The Crabs were also not overcooked.
Water Chestnut

Typical Thai dessert. The coconut milk was really fresh with the water chestnut. It was really good!
Tapioca with Coconut Cream

This was really good. The Tapioca had a soft starchy texture that went well with the salty and sweet coconut cream. I really liked it.
Overall the food was good at Thai Garden Village. Favorite dishes of mind included the Claypot Crab with Glass Noodles, Pandan Chicken and Tapioca with Coconut Cream. I would definitely want to give this place a re-visit to sample my other favorite Thai Dishes such as Som Tam and Curry Crab.
