Room Service @ Sheraton Miyako, Tokyo

My first trip of 2011 sees me in Tokyo, Japan, a city that has more Michelin Stars than any other cities in the world and as of 2010 more 3 Michelin Star Restaurants than Paris.

Arriving late around 11pm after a 90 minute bus ride from Narita Airport Kim and I were too tired to go out and eat and decided to call for Room Service.

The Hamburger Steak was really tender and well seasoned. Breaking the egg allowed the Egg Yolk to add even more richness to the dish especially together with the Teriyaki Sauce. The mushrooms were also sauteed just right together with the assorted root vegetables. The Wedges however weren't as crispy as I had hoped. Probably because it was sweating under the Cover while our food was brought up.

The sushi rice was really good. It was fluffy and had the right amount of starch to make it glutinous but not mushy. Unlike many other places the Miso soup had a very rich Miso Flavor which I really enjoyed. The star however was the Yellow Tail. It was seriously juicy and had a nice sweet soy glazed.

Eating our dinner reminded me of why I just love Japan. It's their do-it-right attitude that just makes them stand out from other places. Ordering Room Service near midnight would usually result in a sloppily prepared meal from a half awake and semi-skilled chef but only in Japan and in my case Sheraton Miyako you get dishes that are beautifully presented and most important of all delicious!
