Pub Grub @ Beer Bistro, Toronto

After attending a Live Choir Performance, Eugene made a reservation at one of his favorite "Gastropubs" called Beer Bistro. Although I don't drink much beer Eugene claims the food there is really good especially their Belgian Frites and Mussels!

This place was packed with people. Despite our reservation for 10pm we had to wait for another 15 minutes. While waiting we were given their Beer Menu which was quite extensive with Beers from Belgium, Canada, Japan, Germany, the US and many other countries.

Bold Ales: De La Senne Taras Boulba (Belgium; 4.5% alc.)

This was what I ordered. The Ale had a really nice fruity flavor which I enjoyed

Bread
Bread
The Bread was served cold and was a quite chewy in texture

Belgian Frites
Belgian Frites
Nearly every table ordered their Belgian Frites. The fries definitely packed a nice flavor from the Duck Fat that it was fried in but it was not as crunchy as the one's I had in Belgium or Holland.

Big Apple Pizza
Big Apple Pizza
Don't know why they called it a Pizza when it resembles a Flat Bread with toppings. It was definitely delicious. The dough was light and fluffy but had a nice crust to it and the Pumpkin Apple Butter's sweetness was an excellent complement to the tender Ale Marinated Smoked Chicken, Caramelized Onions and Sage.

Brussels Mussels
Brussels Mussels
This was my order and it was delicious! The tomato broth had some heat from the hot chilis and the use of Fennel, Garlic and Parsley went so well with the perfectly cooked Mussels. This was so good especially the broth I soaked the entire Bread in it.

Creme Brulee
Creme Brulee
The Creme Brulee was pretty good with a nice sugar crust. There was a strong citrus flavor which was good as it cut into the richness of Creme Brulee.

Beer Bistro's clever use of Beer and Ales could be seen throughout most of its dishes. Anyone craving for some Beer and Mussels should definitely give this place a visit!
