Szechuan and North East Chinese Cuisine @ Mandarin Garden

I've visited Mandarin Garden three times in the past two weeks for their Szechuan and North-East Chinese Cuisine. It is the only restaurant besides Asian Legend around the Yonge and Finch area that serves some decent regional Chinese Food.

Boiled Pork Bones
Boiled Pork Bones
The Pork Bones was fork tender and the soy sauce really accentuated its natural flavor.

Braised Pea Sprouts in Superior Stock
Braised Vegetables in Superior Stock

Braised Sea Bass in Spicy Bean Paste Sauce
Braised Fish
The fish was a little dry for my liking and the Spicy Bean Paste Sauce overpowered the flavor of the fish

Pork Cartilage Jello
Pork Cartilage Jello
A seasonal dish and one that I've never tried before. The texture tasted exactly like Jello with some some cartilage bones giving it a little crunch. The flavor however was rather bland

Szechuan Style Chicken

The Chicken is really tender and not as spicy as what you would find in China.

BBQ Lamb Skewers
Grilled Lamb Skewer
Their BBQ Lamb Skewers were really good. The tender pieces of meat were well seasoned and had a nice spicy flavor

Szechuan Style Cold Noodles
Cold Szechuan Noodles
Another favorite of mine. I loved the flavor of the aromatic Szechuan peppercorns with crushed nuts on the Cold Noodles
