Crystal Jade Restaurant @ Pavilion

Kazu is going to become a monk in Thailand for 8 months. We decided to meet up one last time for lunch in Pavilion before he heads out to embark on his "spiritual journey".

We chose to eat at Crystal Jade since they had a special on Braised Sharksfin in Claypot. Similar to the Thai version the broth was very rich and thick. The soup was flavorful but there were only a few strands of sharks fin and some fish maw.

May as usual ordered Har Kow since they were serving Dim Sum. The prawn filling was pretty good but the skin was a bit too chewy.

Next came our Chinese Greens with Crab Meat and Egg White Sauce. The vegetables were soft and went well with the velvety sauce.

We also had the Wonton in Soup. We prefer the one's served in Hong Kong and Canada where the filling is big.

The Crispy Roast Duck arrived next. We all thought this was probably the best dish. The skin was crispy and the meat is tender.

Kazu also ordered the Char Siew Wonton Noodles. The noodles had a pretty good bite to it, but the char siew was rather tasteless.

For dessert we ordered the Mango Pudding. It was very sweet and had some actual mango meat inside.

At the end of lunch we all pretty much agreed that this is a decent place to have a meal. It's not great but it's not bad either.
