Lunch @ Pan Heong

I've read a lot of positive reviews about Pan Heong from various food blogs and made a lunch stopover en-route to Berjaya Hills. We were only three today but we went all out and ordered as many dishes as we could stomach.

Our first dish was the Frog Leg Congee with a side order of Yau Cha Kwai. The Yau Cha Kwai was cold and tasted a little stale but the congee was really good! It had a very smooth and creamy texture and was very well seasoned.

Next we had Fried Bee Hoon with Kao Yuk (Vermicelli with Canned Stewed Pork). This is definitely a very sinful dish. The pork slices were really tender and the oil from the canned pork definitely added a lot of flavor to the noodles.

My favorite of all was the Sang Har Wat Tan Hor (Fresh Water Prawns with Flat Rice Noodles). The super soft and smooth Hor Fan (Rice Noodles) were first stir-fried with soy sauce and then tossed with the richest eggy gravy I have ever had. The combination of super soft and soy caramelized noodles with a super rich and smooth gravy was sooo delicious!.

Last but not least we also had the Steam Tilapia which was quite ordinary. The fish was steamed perfectly but it was definitely overshadowed by the noodles and congee we had.
