Decent Thai Food @ Thai Basil

After 3 months in Asia, I'm back in Toronto for a couple of weeks. Catching up with an old friend we had lunch in Thai Basil after hearing the chef was from Thailand.

Beef Brisket in Massaman Curry
Beef Brisket in Massaman Curry
One of my favorite Thai Curries. The Massaman Curry here was quite good. The Brisket was very tender and the curry had a very rich Peanut Flavor.

Pla Neung Manow (Steam Fish with Lime)
Steam Fish with Lime
A common Fish Dish in Thailand but rarely served in Toronto Thai Restaurants. Thai Basil uses Sea Bass in replacement of the common Siakap Fish. The Fish was a little dry but the Lime Dressing was actually pretty good.

Papaya Salad

The Papaya Salad had a nice crunch and the dressing although a little too sweet was quite nice.

The food overall was quite authentic with my favorite being the Massaman Curry. Anyone living around the Bayview and Major Mac area should give this place a try if they're craving for some decent Thai Food.
